What is Akidin used for?

Akidin is used for the symptomatic treatment of Parkinsonism and alleviation of extrapyramidal syndrome secondary to intake of phenothiazine drugs.

How much and how often should Akidin be taken?

For Parkinsonism, Akidin is taken at an initial dose of 2 mg, 3 to 4 times a day, and can be increased according to the patient’s needs up to a maximum of 16 mg in 24 hours. For drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms, Akidin is given at 2 mg, 1 to 3 times a day.

What are possible side effects of Akidin?

The usual side effects of Akidin are dryness of the mouth, difficulty swallowing and talking, thirst, difficulty urinating and constipation.

What does Akidin pack contain?

Akidin is Biperiden HCl 2 mg tablet available in blister pack of 10’s in a box of 100’s.
